Her career included being a performer singer-performer, and designer who broke through obstacles in the field. She was both modern and traditional. She was a Mexican American who united the two worlds together in a distinct method. Her name was rising but her sudden death broke it. And as is common when a brilliant, genial young performer is lost too quickly and is buried, many mourned the greatness she was yet to reach. To stop her successes from going unnoticed many of her fans in the last few years have been motivated to go further. The death of Selena triggered emotions in the Latino community that is similar in a way to Elvis Presley, and John Lennon. Selena's music, an artist who was hugely popular in Latino communities throughout North America touched people young as well as old. Selena is a flamboyant sexy performer, sometimes referred in the media as Latina Madonna. But, she's also an admired role model since she is offstage and has an attitude of family and active participates in anti-drug programs.
